0800hrs Pick up from hotel in Kota Kinabalu city and drive about 3 hrs through scenic countryside to the North of Kudat, passing paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation and local stalls selling handicrafts and local food. En-route visit Sumangkap Village, which is famous for its gong making cottage industry and skilled artisans. Proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a Longhouse visit. Built entirely using local materials, the longhouse is home to the Rungus people, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Kadazan-Dusun. Observe their unique beadworks, lifestyle and costumes and experience a native Rungus-style lunch. Continue journey for about 1 hour to Simpang Mengayau, the Northern Tip of Borneo. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the coastline. Continue to Kudat town for a brief visit before retracing your steps back to your hotel in Kota Kinabaku in the late afternoon.
