Day 1 Arrival Kota Kinabalu

Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet and transfer to hotel of your choice. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in City Hotel.

Day 2 Poring Hot Spring – Kinabalu Park (B, L)

Depart early morning for a 3-hrs drive to Poring Hot Spring. En route, make a stop at Nabalu village to savour local fruits and to shop for local handicrafts. Upon arrival, observe wildlife on the canopy walkway 100 feet above the forest floor and take a dip in one of the soothing, hot mineral springs set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Proceed to the World Heritage site of Kinabalu Park. Explore the mountain gardens – home to many species of orchids, pitcher plants, birds, insects and butterflies – with your guide before returning to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon. Overnight at City Hotel.

Day 3 Kota Kinabalu – Sandakan (B)

Morning at own leisure in the morning until check-out (1200 hrs). Then transfer to the airport for flight to Sandakan. Overnight in Sandakan Hotel.

Day 4 Sepilok – Boat Cruise – Sukau (B, L, D)

Pick up airport/ hotel and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary to watch the feeding of orang utans and see a video presentation of their rehabilitation programme. Proceed to jetty and depart by boat to Sukau passing Sukau Villages and Mangroves. There will be an opportunity to search for more wildlife on the 2-3 hour boat ride. In the late afternoon, go on a river cruise up Kinabatangan River to Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.

Day 5 Sukau – Boat Cruise -  Sandakan  – Kota Kinabalu (B, L)

After breakfast, 0700 hrs return to Sandakan by boat and have another chance to see wildlife along the river during the 2½ hour journey. Arrive at Sandakan town jetty and then visit the central market. Proceed to Sandakan airport for flight out. Check-in, then have lunch at airport.

Day 6 Mamutik or Manukan Island Daytrip (B, L)

Just 15 minutes boat ride from Kota Kinabalu are the beautiful coral islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Offering pristine white beaches, clear water and coral reefs, this is the perfect getaway from the town. After collection from your hotel, take a short boat ride to one of the outlying islands for a day of relaxation and swimming. Mask and snorkel will be provided, plus a barbeque lunch. Basic washroom facilities are available on the island. Return to Kota Kinabalu mid-afternoon. Overnight at City Hotel.

Day 7 Departure or Extend Tour – (B)

Following breakfast, at own leisure in the morning until check-out (1200 hrs). Then transfer to the airport for departure flight or extend tour.
