Wayne Tarman is an experienced tourism specialist, travel writer and keen photographer. He has lived in Borneo since 1995 and has travelled throughout Sarawak, Sabah & Brunei. Before joining Borneo Adventure in 2013, he worked as a hotel and tourism consultant in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
He has a BA (Hons) in Southeast Asian Studies & Language from the University of Hull and MSc Tourism Management from the University of Surrey. His Masters dissertation focused on tourism planning and implementation in Sarawak.
Wayne has consulted and produced content for a number of government agencies involved in the tourism industry; including the Sarawak Tourism Board, Sarawak Forestry Corporation and the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak. He is the co-author of the Official Kuching Guide; co-author and publisher of ‘Borneo – A Photographic Journey’; and has contributed photo images to a number of books featuring Borneo.
He has also worked as location manager and fixer for a number of TV documentaries filmed in Borneo, including Anthony Bourdain’s last visit to Sarawak for the CNN series Parts Unknown. Wayne worked as a location producer on a reality TV series that resulted in the development of Borneo Adventure’s Lubok Kasai Jungle Camp.
