Bintulu is an industrial port town servicing the oil, gas and timber industries. The town is home to a massive Liquefied national Gas (LNG) manufacturing complex, one of the largest in the world. Bintulu is located around 600 kilometres from Kuching. It is situated roughly mid-way between Sibu and Miri. The town has some decent hotels and good restaurants. Not many travellers visit Bintulu. The town’s main tourist attraction is Similajau National Park, a narrow strip of protected forest that is fronted by a series of picturesque golden sand beaches.
