Mongkos Bidayuh village is located near the Sarawak-Kalimantan border, 103 kilometres from Kuching. Traditionally the Bidayuh lived in longhouses but nowadays most Bidayuh settlements consist of individual houses rather than longhouses. Mongkos is a thriving rural community and home to one of the few remaining traditional Bidayuh longhouses in Sarawak. The 24-door traditional longhouse is made of wood and bamboo and was built in the 1950s. Small fruit and vegetable farms and rice fields surround the village.
We operate day trips to Mongkos on Tuesdays and Fridays and overnight tours on Mondays and Thursdays.
