Poring Hot Springs

Poring Hot Springs is located 136 km from Kota Kinabalu and 40 km from Kinabalu Park HQ. Poring is situated amongst lowland rainforest rather than the montane and sub-montane forest of nearby Kinabalu Park. Poring’s hot sulphur spring baths were first developed by the Japanese during their Second World War occupation of Sabah.

Poring Hot Spings

Today the hot spring waters are piped into a series of outdoor and indoor baths. In addition to the hot springs there is excellent canopy walkway that allows visitors to view the rainforest from up high. The canopy walkway is approximately 157.6 metres long and in some parts it is 41 metres above the forest floor.

Our tours to Poring are combined with a visit to Kinabalu Park. See our Kinabalu Park section for more information and prices.
