The area is surrounded by vast jungles in a temperate climate and has an abundance of biodiversity. The Sayap Substation is located 1,080 metres above sea level and the campsite sits besides a beautiful mountain river. There are western toilets and showers at the campsite. The surrounding primary rainforest is filled with orchids, giant trees and waterfalls.

0900 hours depart Kota Kinabalu and drive two hours to the Kinabalu Park substation. Set up camp and then eat lunch, before departing on a trek to the Kemantis Waterfall. Swim in the cool water that comes from the top of Mount Kinabalu. Return to camp for dinner, before heading out on a night walk to search for reptiles, amphibians and mammals. Overnight at Sayap.

Day 2 Kinabalu Park (B/L/D)

Breakfast in camp then go trekking on one of the many great trails around Sayap. Follow the beautiful mountain rivers on 6 km trek to discover the flora and fauna of Mount Kinabalu.
