Itinerary

0800-0815 hours pick up at your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinabalu Park. The journey to the park takes approximately two and a half hours. Along the way stop at Pekan Nabalu where a variety of local fruits, vegetables and handicrafts are sold. Arrive at the park around 1100 hours. Enjoy the refreshing cool air as you head to the botanical garden for a guided walk. The Kinabalu Park botanical garden has an impressive collection of mountain flora and showcases some of the many species of plants that can be found within the park. On a clear day you can see the 4,095 metre peak of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia and one of the highest peaks in South East Asia. After your guided walk proceed to Timpohon Gate, the starting point for climbing Mount Kinabalu. You will have a chance to see climbers and porters coming in and out of the gate. Enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant outside the park. After lunch proceed to the Desa Dairy Farm, the “New Zealand of Sabah”. Enjoy the stunning vistas, cool air and almost alpine-like setting. Head to the viewing platform to see the semi-automated milking process, feed the calves and goats, or simply take in the views whilst enjoying a glass of milk, slice of cheese or gelato. Return to Kota Kinabalu, arriving around 1730 hours.
