Borneo Adventure offers a variety of film location services for international production companies with projects in Sarawak and Sabah. Over the last 20 years we have worked for a range of clients including the BBC, Endemol, National Geographic Channel, ABC (Australia), NHK, Icon Films and numerous other independent film production companies. Much of this work has focused on factual programmes such as natural history, science, history documentaries, etc. However, we also have wide experience of assisting companies with reality TV shows, advertising shoots and feature films, often in remote area locations.
Past projects have varied in length from a few days to several months; often involving large scale and complex logistics; moving people and equipment in remote areas; providing accommodation and catering; and in many cases working closely with local communities.
Central to any film project in Sarawak and Sabah is obtaining necessary permits and approvals from state governments plus other bodies such as immigration & customs. Borneo Adventure is one of the few tour operators in Malaysia that has a FINAS (National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia) licence. We can therefore act as a local sponsor for Malaysian and foreign film production companies and help obtain government approvals and permits.
